Well, March is almost over and I hope winter with it! There are a few springs showing up, not in any big numbers though. It’s still early, the Columbia River runs aren’t supposed to be huge, about average this year. Also the Smith is supposed to have a decent run this year. All in all …

End of the Season

Summer is almost here….

Summer is almost here, although it feels like August!! The fishing has been spotty for a few days and it’s been hot (especially today!). Fish have been in the high teens and low twenties, then it got slow and fish were all 12lbs. But…good news!!  The commercial fishing that has been happening is now over, …

Spring Fishery

Well, fishing seems to be a lot better already for this 2016 season! There are lots of Springs around;  they aren’t large, 5 – 14 lbs with the odd 20 lb in the mix.  Lots of Lings still on the rock piles, up to about 15 lbs, along with a few Halibut. They are calling …

2016 is here!

Well, 2016 is here and going way to fast! Fishing predictions are good for Springs this year in all the rivers south of BC.  The Coho fishing is supposed to be okay as well. We won’t hear about the Halibut quotas yet,  that won’t happen until the end of March. I bought two new motors …
