The reason Ruffin and the other injured players were left behind was because Spurrier thought they wouldn’t be able to contribute and he didn’t want to risk them getting hurt even worse.
Ruffin said he was never given an apology from Spurrier or anyone else at the school. He still feels like he was betrayed by the man he thought was a father figure.
